Hey Guys
My names Carl and I'm from Ireland.
Picking up my first 100nx 1.6 on Monday.
It's in need of a bit of love, but myself and my 2 youngest sons can't wait to start work on it.

Thank you Harrie
Delighted to be here. Looks like a lot of information for guys like me who are new to the 100nx.
Ill be doing lots of reading.
Thanks for the tip I'll keep that in mind.
Time to buy a gasless mig welder????

HarriePekel

MIG gasless? impossible, the IG means Inherit Gas, same in TIG, the gas you need to keep the weld clean.
You could think about a machine using the welding cord with inbuild gas, but you'll need at least 4 power settings on the welder, else you will create more holes  :o
I got an old machine, The minimig with 4 settings and gas in the welding cord, works perfect  ;)

I'll be honest I know very little about welding.
There are a lot of flux core mig welders being sold over here and they get very good reviews.

HarriePekel

Flux core might be the same as overhere the gasfree ones, they only say you don't need a co2 or argon bottle ;)
But be aware of the setting possibilities, to high power wil burn through the chasis plates and create holes inside the weldspot  :o

I will pick one up and do a lot of practice before I go near the car with it.
Thanks again for the great advice.

Hey
Thanks for the welcome. I've only picked the car up today. Back home quite late. I drove the NX home about 110miles.
It drove quite well, but definitely needs the brakes overhauled, a service and a new exhaust.
The body needs a good bit of tlc.
I will take some pics in daylight.
How do I find the month of the build?

Rooky

Rooky

How do I find out the bhp of my car?
Any search I do gives me 2 answers, either 90 or 102!!
But no definitive answer.

HarriePekel

the carb version has 90bhp, and the injection has 102, injection is past '92
Yours looks like an injection, it has trim in the same colour as the car itself  ;)

Thats brilliant thankyou.
My car was registered in 1994 but was built in August 1993.
So definitely 102bhp.
Thanks again
Always learning

Rooky

A few pics taken today, you can see it is quite rough but is driving well.
