Hey Guys
I'm going to use this post to put up any work done to the NX as I progress along.
Work so far. Removed the mess that was an alarm system.
New spark plugs and air filter.
Remove most of the interior to find any internal rust areas.
Unfortunately doing this I found out my drivers seat (RHD) is completely knackered. It looks like the underneath was used as a battering ram at some point. It looks to be beyond repair????
So I'll have to try and find a suitable replacement.

Luckely your RHD side is our passenger side, we got pretty good seats and other used parts overhere  ;)
And if needed we got our friend Sander, with all his parts  ;)
check this: ->https://www.nissan-autoparts.nl/c-4302834/nissan-100nx-b13-oktober-1990-1996/
Pretty solid car btw  8)

It doesn't look too bad. One patch done before is a bit rough but I'll tidy it up.

Thanks for the link, some great parts but no shipping option to Ireland????

HarriePekel

just send a mail to him info@nissan-autoparts.nl or whatsapp with sander on +31 6 number, he will fix it   ;)

Brilliant thank you. I've emailed him.
Thanks

Well turns out the rusty areas are worse than originally thought.
A couple of bits that looked like surface rust turned out to go a lot deeper.

HarriePekel

It's not that bad at all  ;)
Take a look at Martin's car overhere:

Or one of my cars BlueNX  ;)

Wow Martins makes me feel much better than mine????

Looks like I need to teach myself too weld properly now.
And must find somewhere that sells steel plate.

HarriePekel

Why don't you recycle a bit? use the outside of an old washing machine, dryer or fridge?

I actually have a bonnet of a Honda Accord that I was thinking of cutting up and using.
Hadn't even thought about appliance panels, great idea.

A couple of small jobs today. New blower resister fitted, so the fan now works on all settings????
Thanks to Harrie for the part.

Water getting into the car at both rear lights.
Took an age to remove them as they were covered in a sticky mastic type crap. Which wasn't stopping the water anyway.

Are there seals available or is sealant the only option?

HarriePekel

No seals, the sealant on the right spot should do  ;)

Cool, found some good stuff on Amazon.
Have to sort the leaking roof then ????

HarriePekel

There could be a few problems with the roof, first the hoses inside the chassis, there are holes underneath the glass panel, left and right, 10cm from the outside, they should drain the water through the hoses and some are closed by dirt
second the roofchassis underneath the seals, they can be rusty and got some holes.
most likely are the roofs itself, they got some flexible parts on the outside of the car, this is made with rubber or something like that and this can leak into the inside of the interiorpanel on the roof, just seal it and keep it in mind  ;)

My man! I have my Nx almost rustbusted. Aslong the underside of the car and wheelarches have no holes even after prodding with a screwdriver you are good. I mean by that, there are plenty rust preventing stuff. Watertite sealing is best.

I can write a very long story about rust busting the Nx.
